Which "room contents" table do you use? Or what do you use instead? I'm curious, especially about acceptable amounts of "empty" rooms. I've looked in several books and have seen a wide array:

Which "room contents" table do you use? Or what do you use instead? I'm curious, especially about acceptable amounts of "empty" rooms. I've looked in several books and have seen a wide array:

16% in BFRPG (1-16 on d100)
33% in Rules Cyclopedia (1-2 on d6)
60% in 1e DMG (1-12 on d20)
70% in Scarlet Heroes (1-7 on d10)

Does a certain percentage work better for groups vs solo play?

I was poking around over at the Iron Crown (Rolemaster) forums and found a link to a member's (Peter R) blog post about how he solos.

I am not sure how to tag this, as the post is part tutorial, AP(one scene...ish) and link to his html tool, also available under downloads there.

I use to have this module. I regret never playing it but I wonder if anyone else has. What did you think?

Hey, guys. I'm running adventures in a post-apocalyptic world using the Rad-Hack rule set.

Hey, guys. I'm running adventures in a post-apocalyptic world using the Rad-Hack rule set.

I'm looking for random charts to help flesh out the world and scenes as well as generating encounters. What are some good sources?

Thanks!

This old (and free) thing popped back into my head today. It might help you come up with more diverse solo content.

I want to learn this RPG system before I try to run a game but it's hard to test my understanding without playing.

So the solution I think is to play solo but how to test familiarity with procedure?
Do I know how to have a range combat behind cover? Perform a con check against poison? Attack inanimate objects? Have a psionic fight? Endure maddening revelation?

Make a party of minimal characters. Only what needs to be there. A fighter needs ST 14 give him that. Don't worry about IQ unless he faces a test.

I'm thinking of a systemless dungeon that is like an obstacle course.
A piniata full of scorpions hangs. When each player has attacked with their melee weapons, Dodge flying scorpions. One of them must save versus poison (but not die)
Track damage but not HP. Have a pool of water. Make them swim and almost drown. Have people throw tennis balls at each other.
What else?
