This past weekend I started a new solo campaign. I made an unnamed "level 0" commoner and dropped him off in generic, procedurally generated countryside.
So far he's:
-Been roaming around as a homeless vagrant for about two and a half months
-Learned enough of the local language to get by.
-Had a series of jobs that ranged from working as a farmhand to loading supplies at a stockyard.
-Been named "Milo" by the locals, the name kind of stuck.
-Most recently he's been a caravan guard.
Now that he's had a taste of battle, and realized that he can make money from adventuring/fighting, I don't imagine he's going back to farming. Not when you can earn lots of gold from a single job, as opposed to a couple copper a day. Upon arriving home from his current job, Milo will finally become a 1st level Fighter!
Milo's humble beginnings :)
ReplyDeleteThings have now started to ramp up!
ReplyDeleteMilo spent all the money he saved from his odd-jobs to pay a combat instructor. He basically became a human pinata for a year and learned the fundamentals of combat and wilderness survival.
His first job was to deliver some goods to the next town over, but he was ambushed by unknown goblinoids on the way. They left tracks leading back to a cave hideout. So, Milo's gonna finish this delivery job and try to round up some adventurers to go clear out this cave...
