  1. I find it helpful to amass a pile of random NPC stats from wherever they can be had: published adventures, blogs, sourcebooks, etc. Depending on the game I might even set up an excel spreadsheet that can generate them by the handful, at least in the case of grunts/mooks/footsoldiers.

    Oh man, that generator is going to get a LOT of use haha. I appreciate that one.

  3. Is the lack of focus more because you have other distractions or because the game is not engaging enough at that moment? Are there any parts of the game where you typically start to lose focus? Have you tried using minis?

    I'm asking because sometimes I have the same problem, but it's mostly when I'm not engaging with something outside myself. When I'm drawing a map, or generating some sort of output for myself, I tend to be more attentive. YMMV!
