Alright, I'm working a bit on my own Solo Engine/RPG (long story short, Jack Cactus' game made me think of making my own), heavily based off Tiny Universal and Tiny Solitary Soldiers. Right now I have the basis of the engine, though I have yet to work out any potential bugs.

The main concept is this: Tiny Solitary Soldiers ran on 1d6 for Oracle questions. Tiny Universal worked on 2d6. This Engine I'm making will work with 3d6 for not only oracle-based questions, but also random events. The RPG itself will sort of be like Snakes on a Plane (your stats will also act as your health) if it had something like pips from D6.

I've been thinking about the former and considering to add a "when a random event occurs, for the rest of the scene, 10 becomes No, 11 becomes Yes" line

as for the low chances of an And, it's mainly because of the numbers assigned to them, so in a sense, it was intended.

  2. Interesting, I'm looking forward to that. Good idea of merging together TSS with some other mechanic.
I'm a bit concerned about the dice probabilities. As Gerard Nerval said: 25& chance of a random event and very low chances of either end of the spectrum (3-4 and 17-18).
I like to check http://www.anydice.com/ for a visual represantation of the probabilities.
Most of the dice rolls will cluster around the "Not yet", "Random Event" and "Yes, for now until" results which sounds like it wouldn't flow nicely.

  3. Alright, so I rearranged the outcomes so that now they cluster around Yes, Random Event (which after such a thing happens becomes split between yes and no) and No. I created a second table where there's no such random events and that they only occur if you roll triple numbers (1,1,1, 2,2,2, 3,3,3, etc.).

I also took the low chances into consideration so that I made the Yes Until and No Until the 3-4 and 17-18 ends. I might hammer out the table some more to make the random events the 3-4 and 17-18 to further increase the odds for the other options.

I was also considering making a 4D6 table, since my theme for the RPG is movies (3D6... as in 3D).
