I played part of The Marsh Bell adventure solo just to get a feel for the system. I didn't use any other GM emulators, but it was a decent experience. I remember that I liked the narrative that the social mechanics spawned in my head. The downside is that TOR is very much focused on the party is an integral unit. For solo stuff, I'd rather play a lone PC, so I prefer secret agents or superhero games.
